Poverty.

Poverty. it's a problem that is spreading over the world. Mostly in sub - Saharan Africa, poverty is a problem where people don't have enough money to be able to afford what they need to survive. shelter, food, water, and proper healthcare are just out of their reach. read this slide to learn a short amount about poverty.I hope you enjoy reading about poverty and learning about it a little bit. see you next time.

My Koru Art!

Hello bloggers! today we finished off our koru arts. first, we sketched out the design we'd like on a piece of paper. then, we went over that with a pencil. finally, we went over the pen with sharpies, and then we got to work on coloring it in with pastels. we were able to grade the pastels in to make a nice color. then, we dyed the rest of the white bits in with black.

I think my outcome was fantastic! I really enjoyed making it and I love the clash of red and blue. the picture was actually taken upside down, but it still looks fine. what do you think I could improve on? tell me in the comments. bu apart from that, see you again!

Hello bloggers! Welcome back to another fantastic blog post. today I'll be showing you what I've been doing over our first week back at school!

on Monday for literacy, we researched some cool mystical cities, after reading about magrathea, a mysterious planet in the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy that was considered folklore. a bit like Atlantis. talking about cities in water, I wrote about the legendary city called Kitezh. here's my piece on it.

The legendary city of Kitezh, or Russian Atlantis, was founded in the time of the great Mongols.

When the Mongols got some Russian land, they planned to raid Kitezh. When they arrived, they were surprised since there were no fortifications. As they were about to attack the city, great geysers of water sprouted out of the ground and swallowed the city into the lake.

Legend says it’s been there since. It even made its way into tomb raider.

It's a very interesting story, and I loved researching it. do you think the mystical city exists?

for math, we were playing with python. we were also using it as a bit of a calculator and typing in maths equations in computer language. it was quite interesting!

My little robot!

Hello bloggers! this it Y 27, my robot!

He's quite cool! he was a programming robot and got sent back in time to meet me. he has his own backstory as well.

Class Y 27 was created in 2077 and was programmed to type code into a monitor. What the creators did not realize was that the memory core of Class Y 27 acted negatively to typing code after a couple of years. Y 27 was strapped into that monitor, and he broke free and ran far away from that place. But he had trouble finding fuel to oil his calotanium gears with and to power him. So he ventured further into the sandy wasteland he lived in.

Fast forward a few years and Y 27 was having lots of trouble finding life. He was out in the desert, scavenging for near-empty canisters of fuel that were leftover from the great resistance war. As he was about to collapse to the ground, he saw something in the distance. A small fleet ship and people were piling out of it. He decided to go closer.

When he got closer, Y 27 couldn't believe what he was seeing. There were men with whips, and babies, women, and children being whipped and loaded out of a beat-up star cruiser.  They were slaves. Y 27 was sad about this, but he couldn't do anything about it. He was a frail, useless robot. After a few minutes of watching the slaves being walked across the desert, Y 27 knew what he had to do. 

He snuck into the ship and quietly turned a corner into the control room. There was no one there, the coast was clear. He opened the main drive under the control panel and started to fiddle around with it. Eventually, he closed the drive and put two hands on the ship’s steering wheel. He was ready to go. But he didn't feel like he was doing a good thing. In fact, he hated himself for it. But he had to do it.

Y 27 took off. The men with the whips turned around with anger, annoyance, and sheer despair in their faces. So did the slaves. Y 27 flew away into the sky. 

He didn’t know where he was going. He just wanted a place that he was safe in. so he traveled to the Scandinavian island, known for its peaceful community. Y 27 flew the star cruiser onto a landing pad and got out. He took a quick look around, then collapsed on the ground. He woke up in a small underground room with dim lights. He was on a comfy bed with one brown pillow, and a bookshelf was on the left wall. He thought, “this is a cozy place to settle down.” he had been on an adventure he would never forget, and he closed his eyes.

Y 27 never woke up again.

I think Y 27 has quite an interesting story, and how he wasn't really a good robot, but he was just trying to survive. I really hope you liked my story, and I'll see you again!

Connections between people!

Hello bloggers! today I made some connections between the characters that we are reading about In the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, and how they can relate.

Arthur

Ford is one of Arthur’s good friends on earth, but secretly Ford is from a small star in the vicinity of Betelgeuse.

Zaphod met Arthur at a fancy dress party, and took Tricia from Arthur and flew off into space.

Tricia met Arthur at the same fancy dress party and then got clutched away from Arthur by Zaphod.

Zaphod

Arthur does not have a great friendship with Zaphod since Zaphod stole Tricia off him.

Ford is Zaphod’s semi cousin.

Tricia was bribed by Zaphod to come and explore the universe with him.

Ford 

Arthur is a friend Ford met on earth. Arthur had no idea he was from another planet.

Zaphod is Ford’s semi - cousin.

Tricia does not have many connections with ford.

Tricia

Arthur met Tricia in a fancy dress party.

Zaphod arrived and intrigued her to come and see his spaceship.

Ford does not have many connections with Tricia.

It's quite interesting thinking about all the connections you have with other people. try to compare yourself to a random person - it's quite fun! anyways, I hope you enjoyed my work, and see you next time!

Fri - yay activities!

Hello bloggers! today is Friday, and that means that we have some fun things to do! in the morning we made a pizza at home. sadly, mine was a bit of a disaster, since the dough was too gooey.

they were a bit of a failure. but we'll try again. secondly, I did some art on the 90 seconds colour push website. it's really cool, check it out!

they are really fun to make and look at afterwards. well, that concludes what I've done today. I think I could have cooked the pizza longer and made more 90-second art pieces, but apart from that, see you next time!

Improbability!

Hello fellow bloggers! today we learned about the heart of gold, and it's improbability drive. the ship was stolen by Zaphod Beeblebrox and it picked up Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect after Arthur's planet was destroyed. we focused on probability and improbability though. here's my improbable story!

I've already told this story, but think one of the most improbable things that have ever happened to me has to be when I got my appendix removed on my birthday. It was a Saturday morning, and I got to open all my presents and things. It felt like it was going really well, and I was also going to have lunch with my mum. But before I could get ready for the day, I had this weird pain in my stomach. It was quite sore, and it only got worse. Eventually, I had to go to lunch with my mum and I was really sore at that point, I couldn't eat, I was just paralyzed in pain. 

then, we finished lunch and we were going back home, and I threw up out the car window. Everyone knew it was serious, so they drove my back to my dad’s house and dad took me to the 24-hour surgery. At this point, I just wanted to lie down and sleep. They said my appendix was inflamed, and that I should go to the hospital immediately.

it's quite an improbable story! I hope you enjoyed reading it.
